A Victorian Gothic Wedding at The BRIX | Jeanette + Eddie | 10.15.2021

Jeanette + Eddie

Jeanette and Eddie matched on Tinder back in 2016 and their digital connection was so instant that they jokingly started calling each other husband and wife.   Eddie found their conversations to be epic and flowed easily.  Jeanette, who works as a nurse in Naperville, loved his humor and his witty personality.  They both questioned whether their in-person chemistry could possibly live up—and to their delight, it did. On their first date, Eddie even kept the gag going by jokingly proposing with a Ring Pop. Four years later, he popped the question for real! This time with a custom ring made using an heirloom diamond that belonged to Jeanette's great-grandmother, gifted by her beloved grandma, Shirlie.

Not long after their engagement, Jeanette confessed her unorthodox wedding fantasy: A Victorian gothic theme.  She wasn't sure if Eddie or her family would approve. She was pleasantly surprised though when everyone was on board. They hosted a dark, dramatic soirée at The BRIX on the Fox in Carpentersville on October 15, 2021. Guests picked up their escort cards tied to skeleton keys and dined at tables set with black candelabras and moody florals. All eyes were on Jeanette in her black lace gown and Eddie in a wine-hued suit during their first dance, with a smoke machine casting fog across the floor.  It looked as if they were dancing on a cloud.  Jeanette's grandma passed a few weeks before the wedding, but Jeanette felt as if she was there every time she gazed down at her ring.
