Wilder Mansion Garden Wedding

Sarah + Matt | 07.13.2019

On Saturday, July 13th 2019, Sarah and Matt tied the knot at Wilder Mansion in Elmhurst. It was a very hot, but beautiful day and I had the honor of capturing it. Sarah and Matt got engaged in January, 2018 and I met them last summer to discuss their wedding. We had an engagement shoot on a very cold day in November (polar opposite of their wedding) and I got to know them a bit. These two are very kind and easy going - my type of people! I could immediately tell they loved each other and I couldn’t be happier for them. I’ve been looking forward to their wedding all year and now it has come and passed. I’m now excited to share some images from their day - this is their wedding day story told through my lens :)

Getting Ready

Wilder Mansion is a unique and wonderful property that has over 100 years worth of history. It was a joy to photograph. Sarah was in the middle of getting ready in the bridal suite on the 2nd floor when I arrived. Matt and the guys were on the first floor. Sarah’s dress was so special - it was actually her mom’s wedding dress that was redesigned by Silver Moon, located in Chicago (Instagram @silvermoonchicago). Sarah’s makeup was done by We Only Do Pretty (Instagram @weonlydoprettychicago) and her hair by Pink the Shoppe (Instagram @pinktheshoppe_mk).

The Ceremony

The ceremony was located in the garden at Wilder Mansion, which is absolutely stunning. It was a very sweet and emotional ceremony - there was both laughter and tears, like a roller coaster throughout the ceremony. Immediately following the ceremony we had a short time for family photos and wedding party photos, but we made the best of the time we had. It was extremely hot out so everyone was happy to get inside for the start of the reception anyways!

The Reception

The reception was held inside Wilder Mansion, where brunch was served. However, before brunch we had the speeches and cake cutting! Sarah held nothing back when feeding Matt a piece of their cake. Matt on the other hand managed to feed Sarah very properly without getting any on her face - he already knows the first rule of marriage: don’t do anything that will make your wife angry!

After brunch, which looked amazing, we had the first dances. Sarah danced with her father and Matt danced with his mom and then step-mom. Afterwards, Sarah and Matt shared their first dance.

Dance Floor

Dance floor is now open! Sarah and Matt’s guests filled the dance floor and everyone had a great time. One of my favorite moments was when Sarah’s grandmother hit the dance floor to do the chicken dance! What a fun time with great people.

Mr. & Mrs. Moser

We ended the day with a few more photos of the newlyweds. We even recreated one of Sarah’s parents wedding photos! The entire day was so amazing and I had such a wonderful time capturing it. I’ve really enjoyed the time I’ve spent with both Sarah and Matt over the past year and I’m so glad their wedding turned out to be such an amazing day. Let’s all congratulate them and wish them the best because they deserve it!
