Wedding Photography Highlights of 2020

Having a wedding during a pandemic

It goes without saying that 2020 has been a very hard year. Some might even say it was the worst year of their lives. Many people lost their jobs, lost loved ones due to COVID-19, or even lost their sanity from being in lockdown for the majority of the year.

Planning a wedding is already a huge task that revolves around many moving pieces. During a “regular” year it’s difficult enough, but now throw a pandemic in the mix and it’s a real crapshoot. People either cancelled their wedding, rescheduled, or scaled down to only a few guests with plans constantly changing. Some having their wedding in their backyard. With that being said, they’ve persevered and accomplished their goal of marrying their best friend. After all, love always wins.

I had the honor of capturing these happy and life changing moments. I do this every wedding, which is why I love it so much. But this year was different because of all of the hardships we’ve had to face. For me, it was a blessing to be able to go out and do what I love. It was almost therapeutic in a way since facing uncertainty from everything going on in the world got to me like I’m sure it got to almost everyone. But being in the presence of love and happiness, which a wedding is overflowing with, made all of the outside noise slip away for a few hours, which is all I needed to recharge my batteries (pun intended).

So looking back at all of my weddings this year felt a little more emotional than other years. I’m proud of my work every single year, but this year will always have a special place in my heart. Some people might look back at 2020 as being an awful year and in many ways it has been. But for me, I’ll also remember all of the good and happy that came from it.

Finding the person you love and want to spend the rest of your life with is probably the single most important decision of your life. And when you make that decision to wed and not let anything stop it from happening, well that’s special.

I made this slideshow from all of my 2020 weddings to show the beautiful and happy moments that occurred this year. I’m very grateful to be able to do what I love and so thankful for my amazing 2020 couples. I hope you enjoy.
