What is it? Well, short answer - it’s the taking of both photographs AND video on a wedding day. Camera technology these days allows the user to take both photographs and quickly switch to video. This let’s me film short clips in between photographs throughout the wedding day. And the end product is both a gallery of photographs AND a Highlight Film! That being said, it is not easy to do under the high pressure environment of a wedding. That’s why not many photographers offer hybrid coverage - I’m one of the few. It took years of practice before I felt comfortable offering hybrid coverage. And even though I may shoot 40+ weddings per year, I limit the number of HYBRID weddings to 10 per year. When I’m the only one covering the wedding, this greatly reduces the production footprint on a wedding day - this is ideal for some couples. However, if a full video production is wanted for your wedding, then I still highly recommend hiring a dedicated videographer. Watch my video below where I go over all of this!
